Hi!

My Name is Melissa Sharpe and I am the founder/owner of The Tutor Room!

I have a Bachelor Degree in Teaching – Primary as well as a Diploma in Sport and Recreation.

I am very passionate about education and getting results! I love to mix the old with the new with the addition of my personal flair! (and sense of humour)

I absolutely love one on one teaching as it gives me the chance to build an amazing rapport with each individual student, which allows me to create a welcoming but stimulating learning environment.

I understand how it feels to lose confidence, to feel like “this is too hard”, to look at the person next door and think “why can’t I do that?”.

I’m here to show them that they CAN! I will show them that’s it’s ok to make mistakes, mistakes are great because that is when the best learning happens! And most importantly it's ok not to know certain strategies or bits of knowledge, as long as they are willing to learn!

The Tutor Room represents my heart and soul of teaching. Everything we do is based on each individual child. We adapt our teaching styles, activities and environment to ensure our students get the most out of each session. I even chose Amy to be my second tutor as she has a very similar teaching philosophy!

my name is Amy and I have currently graduated with a

bachelor of Education -Primary , specialising in Montessori Education.

I also have a diploma in Sport and Recreation.

I personally believe that learning occurs when a prepared environment is created that fosters the fundamental needs of every individual. I want to support students by creating an environment where their interests and passions can guide their learning, allowing them to feel confident and succeed in school.
